Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 15, 2026

The short version: we collect as little as possible, we don't sell reader data, and everything we do collect exists to run the site and its ads. The longer version follows.

What we collect

We collect the minimum we need to run a news site: server logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested), newsletter email addresses you give us voluntarily, and aggregate analytics about which stories are read.

We do not require an account to read TechCurrent, and we do not buy third-party data about our readers.

Cookies & advertising

TechCurrent is advertiser-supported. Ad slots on this site may set cookies through our advertising partners (currently Google AdSense) to measure delivery and, where you have consented, to personalize ads. You can decline non-essential cookies in the consent banner and ads will still work — they'll just be less relevant.

We use a privacy-respecting analytics setup that aggregates readership data; we do not build individual reader profiles.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address with our email service provider and use it for exactly one thing: sending you the editions you signed up for. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe that takes effect immediately.

Your rights

You can request a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — whichever jurisdiction you're in, we apply GDPR-level rights globally. Write to privacy@techcurrent.tech and we'll respond within 30 days.

Data retention & security

Server logs are retained for 90 days for security and abuse prevention, then deleted. Newsletter data is retained until you unsubscribe. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest with providers under standard data-processing agreements.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes materially, we'll say so prominently on the site — not bury it. The date below always reflects the current version.
